The Constitution of the United States of America

We the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.
The United States Constitution is one of the most brilliant documents ever written. Anyone in the world that reads it, without bias, will be in awe of the genius that it took to compose it. If you have never read the entire document I encourage you to do so, it will change your life. It is only 4000 words, and the shortest in the world, as well as the longest surviving of any current Constitution. If you are an American or a lover of freedom, take the time to learn from the men, the authors, which truly understood and defined for us the God given freedom to which we are all entitled.
I am no lawyer, or constitutional professor, but I do love and cherish the rights and freedom provided to us by our creator. The men of our nation have become, well a bunch of pansies. We seem to believe we are entitle to "fairness". Too many of us believe the government should take "by force" from the haves and give it to the have nots. What they do not understand is that every time we allow the government to do something for us, we give up the right to do it for ourselves our own way. I guarantee that my way is better and more efficient than the government's way.
A simple example is one that is so easily overlooked and so subtle that almost anyone would overlook it. A few years ago in Florida a new amendment was put to the people to ratify to the state constitution. It all looked good on the surface. It was a banned on smoking in restaurants, and of course it passed by a huge margin.
Everyone hates it when people smoke in restaurants. No one wants to smell smoke while they are eating. People want to protect their kids from second hand smoke. It seems like the only reasonable thing to do is to forbid smokers from participating in their disgusting habit while me and my family are eating. After all it is wrong to smoke around people that do not want it near them, and this is why it passed so easily.
The only problem with this way of thinking is that it totally ignores freedom. This is when everyone argues that smokers are impeding on the rights of non-smokers, proving again that people know nothing of freedom. FYI I am a non-smoker. I could care less about the rights of smokers or non-smokers. The only person in this situation whose rights matter is the restaurant owner. People, we are talking about the government forcing a business owner to run his business someway other than the way he sees fit. A business owner should be able to run his own business any way he sees fit. IT IS HIS BUSINESS!!!! The only person that has lost any freedom is the business owner.
You may say, well that is okay because smoking is bad. The truth is that the more we allow our freedoms to be seized in the name of what is "good", the easier any freedom is to take away. Don't let good intentions steal your individual freedom guaranteed not only by our constitution, but by God Himself. Cherish the Constitution and the genius of its writers. The cost of FREEDOM is too great to give away to our government.
